The Ridge design
The Ridge house features a long thin plan ideal for larger blocks. Its shallow plan depth allows the house to be placed successfully along the contours of steeper sites.
The ridge house is ideally oriented with the long facade facing north to capture maximum solar penetration to all rooms. Operable windows on both the long sides of the house assist in ventilating the house in summer, whilst encouraging maximum daylight potential. The plan of the ridge house brings long sweeping views of the landscape into all rooms of the house.
There are four, comfortable-sized bedrooms, which are interchangeable as further living spaces. All bedrooms have built in cupboards and the master bedroom also features an ensuite. Substantial extra storage is provided in the house.
The gable roof form extends past the line of the house at both ends and finishes elegantly as it reaches out into the landscape.
